The Role
Hain Daniels are currently recruiting for a Site Trainer for Histon. In Histon, we manufacture a host of ambient sweetspreads and jellies for our grocery brands. These includes Hartley'sjams and jellies, Gale's honey, Rose's and Robertsons marmalade's.
Job Summary
To deliver training across local site in line with regional and company wide training standards. Keeps local site management teams and Site Compliance Trainer informed of training activity through weekly report. Creates task based assessments and identifies competent buddies to deliver an efficient methodology of competency to drive development and competency improvements to the trainee and hence the business with the support of SOP’s and personal review.
The role is within the factory to deliver a training programme to the individual from induction into the business on to their competency of running the asset or function they have been employed to do. The role involves working with the team managers to ensure their staffs are trained to a level of autonomy and competence that meets the area needs and grade of the asset /function the trainee is occupying. The training tools of buddy, one on one explanation and task assessment against an approved and relevant standard is the driver for successful completion of any competence.
PURPOSE OF ROLE / USP's
Safety, Quality, Hygiene
- Drive the risk assessment process of tasks being trained, incorporating visual guides and explanations of the risks verbally and formally into the SOPs
- Capture the compliance educational standards into the SOPs to ensure consistency of the message and reinforcement of site standards are live for the trainee e.g. GMP, Quality attributes and safe ways of working.
- Demonstrate the correct ways of working through their own behaviour and by not accepting or walking past practices that are not to site standards.
Training, Planning and Co ordination
- Co ordinate Site Compliance attendance for the teams. Use site matrices together with discussion with their Team Manager for the release of the trainee. Actively inform of upcoming training activities and contribute to the maintenance of training systems and training records.
- Arrange or facilitate specific training for departmental needs. E.g. Technical ingredient controls, Confined Space, First Aid, H&S & FLT.
- Identify competent buddies to deliver on asset support ensuring that the SOP reflects the requirement, or if not, is reviewed and updated to the required standard.
- Deliver the task assessment programme to ensure competence and autonomy has been delivered.
- Progress identified training needs ensuring the out come is the correct way forward for the individual.
- Ensure SOP’s are relevant, effective, consistent and standardised to site codes of practice. Identify and lead the SOP review process.
Communication
- Use the daily production meeting as required ensuring training arrangements are communicated and understood.
- Use email communication to clarify or inform of up and coming activities.
Report training statistics weekly /monthly to departmental head and relevant area managers
