The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Coordinator at our Histon site. In Histon, we manufacture a host of ambient sweetspreads and jellies for our grocery brands. These includes Hartley'sjams and jellies, Gale's honey, Rose's and Robertsons marmalade's

The role of the Health and Safety Coordinator is to work closely with the group Health and Safety site management teams to promote safety attitudes, safe work practices and environments as well as manage, maintain, and administer the health and safety program with the objective of minimizing accidents and incidents.

A large part of the role will be as Hain celestials UK Safety software specialist, and as such you will be heavily involved in its inception and integration into the company working closely with the software provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the project lead on the inception and integration of the new safety software into the business, working closely with the software provider.
  • Maintain data inputted into the software and to assist sites with any problems they may face 
  • Pull site specific and full company reports from the system on general health and safety statistics and trend data
  • Maintain policies, procedures and templates on the HUB, updating any new versions in a timely manner.
  • Providing sites with the H&S committee meeting minutes and ensuring these are communicated.
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety related topics
  • Conducting risk assessments alongside site managers.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

  • Level 3 general certificate in occupational health and safety or equivalent is desirable
  • GCSE Grade C or above
  • Food industry experience.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work with people at all levels of the organisation
