Basic Purpose:

The Director of Procurement - Indirect is accountable for the establishment and oversight of the Indirect procurement policy, strategy, processes throughout Hain Europe business units.  

As the regional process owner for Requisition to Receipt this role will:
  • Implement industry leading practices for the purchasing lifecycle, procurement system subject matter expertise, and ensuring compliance to process.
  • Coordinate like purchases across all functions and sites with consideration for global spending to ensure best outcomes of quality and value.  
  • Collaborate with Internal stakeholders across all functions to develop processes, standards & requirements enabling Purchasing to identify appropriate  suppliers than can deliver Materials and Services that will meet such standards and requirements while achieving the defined business strategies.  
  • Stay abreast of constantly changing market conditions, industry trends, government regulations, quality standards, IT requirements and other internal requirements.

  • Based upon needs of the business, identify, source, negotiate, transition, train and manage suppliers. 
  • Position the company for an optimum supply chain by developing partnerships with strategic suppliers and reducing the number of suppliers by developing networks for all key spend areas. 
  • Negotiate agreements with suppliers that incorporate (i) reasonable legal terms and conditions including all required language from Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Legal and IT; (ii) service levels; (iii) pricing transparency; and (iv) cost savings.
The incumbent will be the primary point of contact for operational activities related to indirect procurement including, RFP facilitation, category creation/management and vendor performance management. In addition, the position leads the management of strategic programs including Agency Relations, Commodity & Energy Hedge Program and Complex Services/ Commercial Outsourcing Projects that are highly complex requiring the interaction with Senior and Executive Management, making recommendations that have a significant impact on the business.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • Develop, implement, and control the requisition to receipt processes for all indirect purchasing activities throughout Hain Europe, establishing policies, best practices, performance scorecards, and relationship & risk management
  • Manage all sourcing/procurement activities and processes for indirect categories. Leads the negotiations of procured services to assure optimal TCO (Cost, Quality, Delivery, Innovation) achieved. Owns annual cost savings targets to be achieved via bid, consolidation, or elimination/control of spending
  • Subject matter expert and key contact for procurement lifecycle management enabled by tools and technology
  • Coordinates and manages third-party activities/services related to procurement processes 
  • Maintain SOX and Purchase Order compliance controls for all transactions and workflows  
Requirements:
 
Minimum Requirements 
  • Minimum eight years’ experience in a Corporate Procurement in the food industry or related role.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s Degree In Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 8+ years in Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with appropriate business experience 
  • Preferred procurement/supply chain certification (CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent)
  • Proven leadership in a similar capacity, $200M+ indirect spend experience of developing and operationalizing strategies strongly preferred
  • Effective negotiations and contract management
  • Manufacturing or operations experience a plus
  • Spend and pricing analytics fundamentals
  • Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry or Manufacturing
  • Knowledge inventory management and associated processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
  • Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead change and execute on strategic decisions.
