The Role

At Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for an Artworker & Studio Manager at our site based in Histon.

Hain is a multinational food business with some of Europe’s leading brands (Linda McCartney’s, Hartley’s, Cully & Sully, Yorkshire Provender, New Covent Garden, Natumi, Joya, Lima, Frank Cooper’s, Clarks, Robinsons’s & Roses) as well as manufacturing private label products for Europe’s largest retailers.

We are creating a new inhouse artwork studio that will be responsible for design (packaging amends, trade adverts, instore toolkits) across the portfolio that support building our brand distinctive assets across all touchpoints.  You will also work closely with our digital content creation team based in Vienna.

Since this is a new role in the business this is a great opportunity to shape this function within Hain.
Key Responsibilities
  • As our Senior Artworker and studio Manager for you will be responsible for:

    People leadership: Lead, motivate & coach the junior artworker. Ensure open, honest, best practice performance & development conversations. Role-model regular feedback sharing & inspire colleague performance. Encourage a culture of collaboration, bravery, trust, support and innovation. 

    Studio Production: Prioritisation of workflow within the studio to ensure that projects are delivered in a timely manner and to budget.  Ensure that all activity across the studios is delivered through the lens of our customer. Taking into account data and insight available across the business, seeking this out when it is not forthcoming, questioning each project to ensure that a customer objective has been established and you and your team are clear on how work is supporting our business goals. Role model this behaviour and thinking across your team and stakeholders.

    Creative  Delivery:  Overseeing the production of multiple content types in line with brand guidelines and that build our brands distinctive assets across all touchpoints.   Leading creative delivery on the more complex or high profile campaigns.

    Creative Agency/Printer and Internal Partnerships: Build strong, trusting, and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders from across all brands and across multiple departments.  You will also build strong relationships with the brands retained creative agencies (Advertising and Strategic Packaging) as well as our European digital team based in Vienna.  You will support the establishment of best practice within the business.
  • What you will need for the role / what it will take
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a creative studio, ideally as an artworker.
  • To be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and Figma.
  •  To have a good understanding of print and printing processes. You will be required to prepare print ready files.
  • Experience working with FMCG would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A good eye for detail.
  • Experience of day-to-day project management across a range of varying projects.
