At our Histon manufacturing site, we produce a range of market-leading jams, spreads and jellies enjoyed by millions of consumers every day. You'll have the opportunity to work with iconic household brands including Hartley's, Robertson's, Gale's, Sun-Pat, Frank Cooper's and many more.

We're looking for an Operational Quality Lead to join our Technical team and play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, legality and operational excellence across our manufacturing processes.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with Production, Engineering, Technical and Operational teams, helping to drive quality performance while supporting continuous improvement across the site.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Operational Quality Lead, you'll be responsible for monitoring and maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, from raw materials through to finished products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with food safety, quality and legal requirements.
  • Carrying out product testing, analytical assessments and quality inspections.
  • Supporting HACCP activities, audits, investigations and corrective actions.
  • Working closely with production teams to ensure products meet customer and company specifications.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to operational teams.
  • Reviewing work-in-progress and finished products to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Supporting environmental monitoring and GMP auditing activities.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, hygiene and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Identifying and escalating food safety, quality and compliance concerns.
  • Promoting a strong food safety and quality culture across the site.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is passionate about food quality and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • A strong understanding of food safety, quality systems and GMP standards.
  • Experience conducting quality checks, product assessments and process monitoring.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and build relationships across teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • The confidence to challenge when standards are not being met and drive corrective action.
