Hain Celestial UK is looking for a Specifications Technologist to join our team at our dedicated meat-free manufacturing facility in Fakenham. This site produces vegan and vegetarian products under licence for the iconic Linda McCartney Foods brand.

Reporting to the Regulatory & Specifications Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet retailer, customer and legislative requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a specifications professional who enjoys working cross-functionally and thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As Specifications Technologist, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and managing product specifications across retailer, branded, foodservice and B2B customers. You will also support artwork approval activities, helping to ensure compliance and accuracy across our product portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating, updating and maintaining product specifications for retailer, branded, foodservice and B2B customers.
  • Managing specification submissions and approvals through customer portals and internal systems.
  • Creating and maintaining pack copy documentation.
  • Reviewing and approving artwork against approved specifications and current legislation.
  • Verifying ingredient declarations, allergen information, nutritional data and product claims.
  • Working closely with NPD, Procurement, Quality, Production and Commercial teams to gather and validate technical information.
  • Conducting regular reviews of specifications to ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensuring nutrition, health and marketing claims meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Supporting specification and artwork updates arising from product changes, customer requirements or legislative developments.
  • Monitoring industry trends, retailer requirements and regulatory changes, communicating any potential business impact.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Specifications function.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and a passion for delivering accurate, compliant product information.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a Specifications Technologist, Specifications Officer, Specification Writer, Food Technologist or similar role within the food industry.
  • Proven experience completing retailer specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of food labelling legislation, food safety standards and retailer requirements.
  • Experience using specification management systems such as Hamilton Grant (desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to challenging deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
