Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Clitheroe

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Technical team at our Clitheroe site. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in Fast Moving Consumer Goods manufacturing who is passionate about food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Available Shifts

· Sunday – Thursday, 6am-2pm (whilst on probation, shift pattern will be Mon-Fr 6am-2pm to ensure full training can be provided first)

· Rate of pay:  £14.13/hour + 10% pay enhancement for weekend working

· Opportunity to work overtime if and when required

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Quality (25%)

· Conduct HACCP audits and monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs)

· Calibrate weighing and temperature measurement equipment

· Verify cleaning standards using hygiene management systems (including swabbing and titration)

· Collect samples for microbiological and chemical analysis

Hygiene & Housekeeping (25%)

· Carry out hygiene and GMP audits in line with schedules

· Communicate audit results and coordinate corrective actions

· Perform glass, foreign body, and fabrication audits

· Work closely with the Shift Manager to resolve hygiene issues

Quality Management System (20%)

· Maintain and update quality documentation, including SOPs and training records

Production Evaluation (20%)

· Assess raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products against specifications

· Conduct physical, chemical, and organoleptic testing

· Support process trials as required

Project Work (10%)

· Assist with technical and quality improvement projects

· Report findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams

About You

· Minimum 1 year’s experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment

· Food Safety Level 2 and HACCP Level 2 (training will be available for the successful applicant)

· Good standard of English and Maths

· Highly organised with strong attention to detail

· Able to manage large volumes of data efficiently

· Proactive, flexible, and able to use your own initiative

· Keen to learn and develop new skills

Working Environment

· Site-based role in Clitheroe

· Work within a factory environment, including chilled and frozen areas

· Some manual handling required (lifting up to 20kg+)
